The Role: Want to be a part of our exciting growth journey? 

The Technical Lead Engineer is a new role in our payments domain, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of end to end capabilities providing seamless payment services to our customers utilizing a variety of payment infrastructure from bank transfers to card networks. 

We expect you to be passionate about highly scalable, fault tolerant, and globally distributed systems. Our software is built to work in a micro services, event driven architecture using Google Cloud. 

You need to be comfortable with high levels of agency, we care about the outcomes you deliver for TRAILD and its customers. We are a company that places our customers at the centre of our product development process using feedback to enhance how our software can aid them in running their business more effectively. 

Our ideal candidates leverage their technical expertise and passion to establish a vision and see it through. We’re looking for someone with a deep understanding of backend engineering with a enthusiasm for performance and scale. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the design and development of highly scalable, reliable, secure, and fault-tolerant systems using state-of-the-art technology 
  • Develop and execute against both short and long-term roadmaps. Make effective trade-offs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation 
  • Drive projects from idea formulation, to implementation across our global infrastructure and customer base 
  • Collaborate with product managers, finance/revenue teams, and other engineering teams to build new features and products creating impact for our customers 

Job requirements

Who You Are: (include required qualifications, experience, education) 

  • 8+ years of experience working in hands-on technical roles, with a strong background in software engineering and architectural design.
  • Direct experience in fintech with experience in payments and card processing
  • Strong communication skills with a knack for breaking down technical details and decisions for non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to go deep, understand both the domain and complex customer needs
  • Experience with project and product planning, including prioritization and roadmap creation, in partnership with peers and adjacent product teams.
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced environment, where you are continuously honing your craft
  • Experience in .NETCORE + C# working in a cloud native environment.  
  • Strong collaborator with an attitude embracing growth, hands-on execution, adaptability, and the scale-up spirit.
