The Role: Want to be a part of our exciting growth journey? 

We are looking for a talented, commercially-savvy Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. You will play a critical role in navigating complex legal and regulatory landscapes during a pivotal growth phase for the business, offering strategic guidance on transactional and corporate matters.  

This role will offer lots of variety, as you will get to work on matters across the global group. Working closely with our Head of Legal, you will lead and assist legal efforts across capital raising, compliance, customer contract negotiation, vendor procurement, ESOP management, corporate governance and more – often working autonomously in a fast-paced, decision-rich environment.  

The ideal candidate will have deep legal expertise in commercial law, a pragmatic and proactive approach, and the ability to work cross-functionally with minimal supervision.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead legal workstreams for capital raisings, including managing external counsel, reviewing investor documentation and preparing data room materials. 

  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including customer T&Cs, partnership agreements and procurement terms. 

  • Develop and implement internal legal documentation and corporate policies aligned with our scaling global footprint. 

  • Provide legal oversight for international operations, including global compliance, data privacy, information security and jurisdiction specific risks (APAC, NA & EMEA). 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and mitigate legal risks in business strategy and decision-making, while meeting commercial objectives. 

  • Support tax-related legal workstreams in coordination with finance and external counsel. 

  • Proactively identify and resolve complex legal issues in a scale-up environment. 

Job requirements

Who You Are: (include required qualifications, experience, education) 

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification. 

  • 4+ years post-qualified experience in a top-tier or mid-tier law firm or in-house legal team with start-up experience. 

  • Strong focus on commercial law, corporate governance, regulatory and/or financial services. 

  • Proven experience in capital raising (including Series A/B/C rounds), M&A or other high-value transactional matters. 

  • Exceptional contract negotiation and drafting skills in a fast-moving commercial setting. 

  • Exposure to tax law and compliance, ideally within a SaaS or tech-driven business. 

  • Prior experience with disputes and working across multiple jurisdictions a plus. 

  • Able to operate with limited guidance, prioritise appropriately and deliver fast, pragmatic legal solutions. 

  • Strong collaborator with an attitude embracing growth, hands-on execution, adaptability and the scale-up spirit.
