The Role: Want to be a part of our exciting growth journey?

We are looking for a talented, passionate, and motivated individual to join our team as the Financial Controller in Australia where you will play a critical role in financial planning and reporting in our global Finance team.


You will play a hands-on role as a leader in our Finance team. You will monitor actual performance versus budget and report variances, prepare month-end reports for management, and collaborate policies or procedures to improve financial performance. Over time, you will be responsible for building out the Accounting function and managing the Accounting team at TRAILD.


Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Statement and Reports: Prepare accurate financial statements, flux analysis and commission reporting.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets including Expense Management and Treasury.
  • Strategic Planning: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Audit, Compliance & Risk Management: Review and refine internal processes and reporting to ensure compliance and support external audit requirements.
  • Oversee Global Payroll Operations: Manage and ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all international location, adhering to local regulations and company policies
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable: Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable function with responsibility for bookkeeping and coding
  • ERP integration and management: Assist with evaluating ERP systems and implementation of selected systems

Job requirements

Who You Are: (include required qualifications, experience, education)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) certification required
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a proven track record in a similar role.
  • Experience with Software as a Service, Fintech or scale-up business preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and statutory responsibilities.
  • Thorough understanding of tax, superannuation, long service leave, and National Employment Standards.
  • Experience with global finance highly preferred.
  • Strong collaborator with an attitude embracing growth, hands-on execution, adaptability, leadership, and the scale-up spirit.
